Welcome and thanks for posting the photo. There are a couple of members here who are very enthusiastic about the four speaker Sanyo minis.

But one thing I would like to know is what was the exact color of the silver M W770 ? This all started with this model in the 80's when I had 9 or 10 years old, in my memories the "silver" version was very silver like the mr w4u mkii, I've search the internet for several years for pictures but never found one, until a couple of days when I saw one for sale locally, and I've been surprised that it seems to be the same whiteish light gray than the japanesse version that I have here. So can anybody confirm or ahave pictures of a M W770 ? Here's the pic of the one for sale.

There's 2 or 3 sites in my Japanese Website Thread that have a ton of catalogs, maybe you can find what your looking for.

I think over time we've discovered some off-colored models, the Japanese seemed to love a lot of variation or short runs with minor differences. The theories are they were for the executive or the music producers or for a different part of the world. It seems that most of the time it was just a very small run and very rarely seen but sometimes popping up on ebay every 20 years or so where we get to see them.

Thanks for your response. What I have always found very weird is when I first started searching for the old boombox M W770 is that I can't find not even a single picture of the silver model on the internet, but I always tough that this model was very popular, at least here, all my friends had the same model, they were all over the place, and always the silver version, I clearly remember that they were sold in large department stores for not that much money, like 179,99$ for the M W770 and 159,99$ for the little M W750. They were available in black, red and silver. There have been many red colored ones available for sale on ebay in Canada over the past few years, but I never wanted the red one. A few years ago when I was searching all over the internet to find the exact model I discovered the japanese versions and I bought a black one and silver not very silver one. I really doubt that there were other colors available in America. I will ask the guy that have one for sale if he knows the history or the origin of his boombox.
