I got a D3 from Ebay that is in pretty bad shape. Batteries have leaked and the D3 cannot be powered with batteries. 3v comes to board from batteries, but I haven´t had time to resolve it any further. It works with AC adapter so it´s not completely dead. Of course it needs new center gear and all other bells and whistles, but for no I just need get it to power on so I know if this example is worth to work on.

So any ideas what to look first?

    Thanks!

Not looking too good. The caps are easy, but can someone point me in the right direction with the bias oscillator T301?

    Hey there!

Pardon the fact that this thread is an old one...

Was wondering what, if anything, came about with looking into the T301 oscillator? I’ve had a WM-D3 that’s been pretty much driving me crazy trying to track down the reason as to why voltage stops around this area of the PCB...

Had rebuilt the DC DC converter, replaced caps and a few transistors, wiring at the heads, and still no voltage at it after the tape heads. Did you end up replacing the T301 related components? Anything else that turned up a solution?

    Thanks!!
    John
