I’ve been doing this for a while now, I started out with a 1980s Sony cassette deck, and gradually moved up from there. Now I have a good number of boomboxes, walkmans, and other vintage tech from decades past. I also enjoy fixing and restoring these things too.

Welcome. The funny thing is I had exactly the same passion as a teenager but with tube radios, back when the Walkman hadn't been thought of and the Radio Cassette was the latest thing in the shops. Part of rhe reason is that unless an item is highly collectable you can pick them up for a fraction of the original cost, especially if you take into account inflation. The latest project is a Panasonic SG14L which I got on Ebay together with the matching turntable for £15.

Welcome! Walkmans are a relatively inexpensive repair/DIY hobby if you stick to eBay lots or flea market finds, etc. I hope to one day work on bigger things myself, it's inspiring to know you are tackling these projects
