... but I found a Sony WM-701C in a flea market in Barcelona. I’ve never thought I could find such model...
Surprisingly it works after changing the belt!

That looks like an 8 track cartridge behind it. Perhaps the seller thought both items were equally worthless.

Nice find! I'd have bought the 8track cassettes too!

The Tintin picture looks interesting too

Wow, I'm still looking....I haven't seen a nice portable in years. You better have grabbed those Pink Floyd 8-tracks, that would be worth investing in an 8-track boombox.

Thanks! I never found locally an interesting walkman (though I found some good decks) but seems that this time I was lucky :)
I don't like earlier pink floyd albums but 8-track cartridges always look interesting. However, I only have one and no machine to play them. I'm not so interested in those, so I decided to pass. But I bet they are still there if I go for them :)

Floyd is not my favorite either but you'll never see those around here, if they are cheap I'l pick them up for entertainment value. I've got an 8-track boombox and Roberts Component Player, I just checked the price on those and someone must be getting into 8-tracks, they're not giving them away anymore.

    Wow, nice find!
Have not owned or even held that model Sony, I think it looks good build quality and design features!
    Lucky you!

Great find!!! Also good restraint to take the picture before you grabbed it...I always forget until I get whatever I found home!

Hi quite the same, but I know what I like and it all works out eventually,
A real result that you did not have to re-cap,

I don't know what's under that pile..but I would have purchased every item in that photo.. that Pink Floyd 8-Track is very rare Spanish release..

I have never seen a north american version of that on 8-track.
The Sanyo is nice and of course yeah grab that Sony if it's under $50. What DID you pay for the Sony?

Honest question.. why is Tintin interesting? I found that cartoon excruciating even as a child..? What's the appeal?

I've read all the books and just like Tintin. The later cartoons are nothing like the books, the earlier cartoons are much better!

At a guess I'd say that's the front cover of King Ottokar's Sceptre

... oh ok !! Sounds like most long running series.. they get watered down. tin Tin wasn't really a big thing around here... I thought it was a British flavored comic? Cheers thanks for your reply.

How quaint, I see Pink Floyd as the best thing that happened to us since Bruckner and Miles (and Stravinsky, of course!) @Mister X what is your all-time fav? ;)

"wish I were there", but then I would have had to buy yet another box to play those tapes!!!:(

I like the Floyd, I just never immersed in them, they were so huge with Brick in the Wall and the movie which played midnight movies for years with sell out crowds.

Tintin is a Belgian creation by Herge, he's been about since the 1930's! He's a reporter who generally pokes his nose in a lot of things and saves the day really! The problem with the cartoons is they tend to miss out a lot of the story, especially with the newer Elipse Nelvana versions, the older Tele Hauchette ( I think that's how its spelt!) versions are much closer to the source material and have a lot of charm about them.
