Oh my goodness, such a collection. I have spent hours this morning pouring over the pictures, stunning. Your pictures are very good also.
Hello Kent, hope you are good. Do you observe the 701T auction? Till now no bids. I have such luck and bought an EX1 gold version. As I see, you have one, too. My question, do you have any informations about it? Was it something special? Was it limited? Was it for public buy? I can not find anything on the web. Thank you for your time, bye dino
Kent you make me feel inadequate. What a collection of boxed units. I am just waiting for a boxed micro delivery M-1PD to arrive but the unit itself is not working but I have a working unit to put in the box which comes with all accessories but it is not the same as finding one all boxed and working . I will though try and get the other unit repaired ,if possible
Here are some photos of the Sony MI Stereo Microcassette which I managed to pick up quite cheaply for £80 inc postage .I had asked if the unit worked and as it did not the Seller reduced , to my surprise ,the unit by more than 50% if I remember correctly It came with all accessories and I hope to try to have someone fix the unit itself, Here are some photos. You will notice there is a photo of a small silver piece of metal which the seller said fell out of the unit when he tested it .Could this be the reason why it is not playing? If anyone has any ideas I would be grateful .
Hello dino, unfortunately, there's no information I've got before about EX1 gold, once I get information,I will tell you. Regards
That's a great collection! I really like the designs of the green button walkmans, like your WM-150 there. It's too bad so many are prone to capacitor defects though... I wonder if it would still work if you turned it on after all these years, despite being boxed (belt-issue aside). The M-80 microcassette unit looks cute too!
Hi Kent, what an AMAZING collection. Wow. Wow. Wow. I thought I had a pretty large collection myself with 500+ unique models, but seeing yours is actually so impressive that it inspires me to go on, while having an excuse towards my wife that I'm not that crazy at all and that it's not so bad I may have a different focus though when it comes to collecting. I'm enjoying these marvels of technology from an engineering perspective - I take them apart, enjoy the way they were engineered and built, and restore them. I'm not primarily looking for boxed/new ones (although I do have some), I try to lay may hands on as many unique models as possible, preferring the absolute engineering masterpieces. I will follow your collection with great interest and respect, thank you for sharing.
Hi Kent, I was looking at these stunning pictures again and 2 questions pop up: - What is the serial number of your EX1 Gold? I guess they have 3 digit serials and I happen to have Serial# 504. Maybe it gives us a hint as to how many have been made, I guess a few hundreds maximum. - Can you say something about the contents on the CD ROM of the 20th anniversary? I do not have this CD ROM and I'm curious to learn about the contents. Thank you! Tim
