Yes for years now I video my ebay bids & you had no chance of winning this Sharp GF-9696Z (2:45) minutes www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ibc9Vz-N1_8 I am only sharing this video as this is not for sale and if I do ever sell it! It will go for MORE than what I paid for it here, understand for those you ya'll that read down here. I will make this deck play cassettes again as I had this model before I learned how to repair these as I still wished I had never sold the one I had, so Now I have this one. shot video 14 September 2019 & uploaded video 09 October 2019
Wow, great catch, bidding got hot at the end and with the computer crashing I felt a little relief because that happens to me all of the time. Do you modify the power supply when you get them from Europe or keep them original?
Hmm... I didn't know that this particular model can fetch such prices. Are these considered rare or highly desirable units? Because in my local markets these are among the more common series, long with the 9494 and 8989, not in that good a condition, though. They appear so frequently to the point that seeing them pop up is nothing surprising.
You’ll video anything lol You were going all in there weren’t you! That’s a high price you were willing to go up to! Not sure I’d pay that but congrats on a beauty
this has world voltage as you can see me change the voltage in this video so that I can play it Unboxing Sharp GF-9696 (Z) 40w Red sticker 9 October 2019 www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ee5XmpF-w8M
Like I said to myself in this video ( I had thought about the price I was willing to pay should it be bidded that high ) and thankfully it didt go that high but again I have not had this model for about ten years since I sold both to Jeffrey Fast in Washington state way back when.
the other models that you mention 9494 and smaller numbers are more common but the 9696 is more harder to come by an for me to find the model that has the English on the controls rather than the Japanese markings makes it so much easy to understand what all the knobs an buttons do. So if the Sharp GF-9696 is common where you live then put them up for sale in here ok as I am certain that there would be lots of interest in the 9696 and also the 9494 but the 9696 has a better 'look' to that model. I know as I have had all the models from 9696,9494,9292,9191,9090,8585, and more lessor numbers.
Yes, I agree that the 9696 looks better than the 9494. As for the markings, most on the makret here are English. Very rare to see any Japanese markings. I don't think selling here would be an option for them, though. These are mostly flea-market style sellers and would rather do with a quick and easy local transaction, not to mention the language barrier. There are some larger seller that would ship overseas though. They're mostly active on Facebook/Instagram. Most of the items are very dirty dead, but every once in a while some real nice ones come up. This is the nicest one lately https://www.instagram.com/p/BwB6r6lnbS0/ As I recall, it went for about USD 250.
The 9696 has more power and better bass than the 9494. It uses the same amplifiers that the 777 does!
You obviously aren't an Ebay bottom fisher Did anyone else notice the name of the business seller. Boomboxes are now officially antiques. I always find it interesting to look at how many other people were bidding above a certain price Three others above £300 show quite a few people wanted this box.
I didn't have a certain price in mind, I just knew how much I was willing to pay to get this again but I was not going to bid early just to have anybody walk the price up on me like It did One time years ago. So I wanted this and I put in a 'Interested' bid and then as I showed my thoughts in my video.
