Nope. I thought about it years ago but my wife isn't too enthusiastic about it, and you know... Apart that the way I'd show them will require a big shelf with crystal and frankly it's not what we need now in terms of spending the money.
Here is my sealed cassette collection. All to be listened to at some point. I treat myself to an unwrapping and listening when i have time. The two most recent were Bernie Worrell and Set the Tone.
Its nice to have sealed prerecorded cassettes, but ..... Only the real collectable ones are worth to keep them as investment.... just regular ones are not worth to keep them just as display.... just enjoy and listen....
Here is an example of a real collectable cassette https://www.discogs.com/Various-Wild-Style/release/6068477
You would be surprised for what crazy prices , rare cassettes are beiing sold..... its the same for records..... look at the monthly Discogs 30 highest prices sold.... it always is the 5000 - 2000 € range
Helaba I have seen it with records, a friend of mine bought a 7” single for $1000+, then he flew personally from London to New York to pick it up as he did not want it posted. No that is something.
He is just nuts, that's what i call it. Well he is actually a Northern Soul DJ, so i guess he really wanted that single badly
One of the click through articles that came up on the internet tonight was about records https://unpuzzlefinance.com/most-valuable-vinyls/
@Longman Thanks for the link! WOW!... wish I could have snatched that Aphex Twin effort for myself: the Dude is sooo crazy that i Love him!
I have a few sealed treasures, here's two from my MoFi Cassette stack ..... Curious rare collectibles, actually too fragile now to open up for quality playback. Forty year aged MoFi Cassettes have a reputation of deteriorating tape coating, and the cassette head pads almost always fall off when initially used. Just get a load of chuckles looking at that price label, circa late 1980s, purchased in MadCity USA !!! Anyone else, show us what you've got stashed ..... Cheers, Bleusy ************
Oh, that is the Blind Faith album from 1969, and a most splendid album ..... MoFi did a very good remastering onto cassette tape, but even more impressive was the MoFi Ultradisc gold compact disc version. Only superior rendition of the Blind Faith album comes from the 1/2 speed on vinyl by Abbey Road Studios last year. Cheers, Bleusy ************
Hi Bluesy I think Mr X meant the other cassette which I do not recognise either can you let us know what that is ?
I love seeing old price labels like that and comparing them to other prices. Twenty beers or a "High Fidelity" Cassette ? https://eu.usatoday.com/story/money...ch-six-pack-cost-year-you-were-born/38528543/ Unlike a streaming service you would make sure you listened to a cassette a few times after buying it when they cost that much.
