Hello from Eastern Australia. I have just started getting into walkmans because I have limited storage space, and cassettes don't take up too much room. Also into a lot of outdoor activities where I can listen to music. (walking dog, gardening etc). Anyway I have so far, a sony Wm fx10, wm f2085 (not working) and a wm f73. Anyway the wm f73 is odd because the radio switch doesn't work. When I switch to radio, the tape mechanism starts to play (without any buttons pressed!) and there is no sound. Please does anyone know how to get the radio back on? Any suggestions would be great! Thank you.
I have few WM-F73, none of them work, They all have the same issues as yours. Somehow Sony used cheap component in this beautiful looking sport walkman. For now I am involved with repairing several Toshiba walkman and I have to finish all of them before switching to other models. I will start working on my WM-73s someday once I get all the capacitors needed for this model. Anyway, I hope other members can share their experiences with this model.
Thanks Boodokhan, I realise there isn't much about these models on sites because of exactly what you said. Anyway I will keep plugging on with these models, because I like them nevertheless.
Thankyou Radio Raheem for your help, I will attempt to purchase some caps and give it a go. There are quite a few of them. However, I don't know of anyone in my local area who repairs walkmans, so I'm willing to try it myself. Cheers from Cat
