hi while putting my dd2 back together
i lost the red light coming on and any electricity,
i did get some shorting going on near the dc plug,
    and it got warm.
so if anyone has some advice about where to look for electricity that would help
    thanks in advance

Open it back up and post photos, it could be a lot of things, I'd check for any wires that may have gotten pinched during re-assembly.

It is beyond repair i think...

If you looking for a replacement pcb i have them for sale. And next time use a laboratorium power supply.

Agree with @Mister X and it is likely a pinched wire during reassembly has lost some insulation and is making contact with the solder trails on the PCB. Check the wires out of the battery bay. I have had these short on a DDIII from battery corrosion. Actually melted the plastic housing but did not damage components.
Also check around that external DC in port that it is not shorting. It may be that and as soon as you put in the batteries there is a dead short across that port.

    Salut l’ami
Here some photos of the wires that might help you.
Don’t forget to look at the back of the capstan ring there are 2 wires from FWD/REW contact and they are often pinched by the capstan back screw.

    A la prochaine

    I forgot
Check for bridges between your soldering points.
