My very first vinyl picture disc and it's a 12" single of Madonna - Open Your Heart extended + dub version. Alongside are the Madonna's vinyl collection up to date. Format: 45 RPM, Single, Limited Edition Picture Disc. Release date: 01 Dec 1986 Label : Sire
Agreed. I bet it cost a lot more than my SL5 though. Yesterday a Sharp RP114 sold as spares that I was watching went for £211 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sharp-Op...=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
True. I have also a SL6, track search doesn't work, what makes it the same as a SL-5 . Technical the V5 is'nt better but they are rare. Real eyecatcher in the livingroom.
Agreed. My PS-F9 offers clear view of the picture disc but is a bit more sensitive to dust. the „picture disc“ effect is not working with transparent discs
Although a bit more interested in Walkmans and Cassettes, vinyl is cool stuff too… After many tests and a long learning curve (and still at the beginning) I can now cut my own Picture Disks. Here are my first two attempts. Sorry for my bad musical preference
How do you do that. I presume you have some kind of cutting lathe but how do you get the picture in the middle ?
well spotted, it is in fact a sandwich: first, the cut of the A/B side was made with a cutting lathe on two transparent blanks which are both coated with glue on the back. Then two pictures (or a double-side printed picture) are glued between the two blanks.
