Hi there everyone and pleased to meet you all...Is there anyone out there who could sell me the small spring that keeps the cassette loading cover on My First Sony WM-3300 open & closed?
Welcome peter collins! Those little springs are a pain to find and replace, a parts unit would be best but Amazon also has "spring packs" with various sizes for a few dollars.
Thanks very much for that but I'm still very interested if someone has one or even a redundant WM-3300 that's beyond repair...but still has the spring?
Hello again all you very helpful Sony experts out there...I'd be very, very grateful if some kind soul could send me a pic of the WM-3300 cassette cover spring with approx. dimensions. I have a gorgeous WM-3300 which is absolutely perfect except for the missing spring! Thanks in advance and kind regards from Sunny London!
Hope this is helpful . It is my "my first Sony" WM-F3010 the radio version of WM3300 , I believe there is no difference to spring-door configuration.
Thank you so much this is very helpful...I'm going to buy a mixed box of springs on eBay and see if I can make one fit! Thanks again & kind regards Peter
You'll probably need to cut it short and bend out the end to get it to catch but keep us informed, it's a project many of us have undertaken with so-so results.
Well I bought a great box of 150 x springs from Amazon and I actually made one that was half decent but could I get it in place...ABSOLUTELY NOT! Plus it dropped through the hole in the mechanism so many times that in the end I just gave up as it was such a pain to get it back out! So at the end of the day I still have a WM-3300 in virtually mint condition that works fine but of course the door won't stay shut unless a cassette is in place! So just to ask you all again.... if anyone does have a spare spring that will fit I'd be more than happy to pay a fair price for it and pay the postage charges to London
Hopefully someone can help you out. I'd edit your post to get rid out your email and just have potential supppliers private message you. The robots scrub the internet and you'll a million spam emails showing up.
