i need two or three C120 cassettes, they must be type I normal. ideal would be new ones but they can be used - as long as they‘re in good condition.

nothing special, no certain brand, just standard.

my offer is to trade a few blank brandnew Maxell SQ cro2 C 90, but i would off course also pay a few bucks, just want to avoid ebay-hazzle as it sucks...

project is just to use the tape for a miniature reel-to-reel, who‘s premagnetizing and erasing does not work with cro2-tapes.

    please pn, THANKS LOADS !

I'll look but I don't think I've ran across many C120 over the years.

You might be in luck, I found these amongst my pre-recorded stuff, seem to be OK but I haven't played them all the way through.

If these will do it for you and you're happy to cover the postage charges, I'll send them out. Don't need any swaps, so that'll keep your costs down too. PM details.

Sweet! I'd love to know more about the Picocassettes but they are pretty rare around here.

It is basically a DAT, it appears Sony had big plans for the format before CD took off, perhaps even thinking being able to record at such a high quality would be attractive. The audio capability specs were up there with the best of anything at the time, way way in excess of what was needed for meetings and memos. What headed me that way was that I was also using a computer backup device that used the same tapes, so it made sense ;) sort of.

    Sorry for the HiJack AUTO

According to Wikipedia it came out after DAT and ten years after CD.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NT_(cassette)
With buffering to give gap free auto-reverse it was certainly High Tech at the time.
Interesting it came out the same years as Minidisc. Maybe that is why it got so little promotion.
Like most weird formats there is a Techmoan video about it.
