Received today combination of compilation and also albums. Megahit are the series of best hits compilation from the early 90's. It's a production of EMI originated, recorded and meant to issue only in my country. Few of these tapes are still sealed.
This was the original retail price back then. Quite expensive for my days, that's why I used to go for the cheap bootleg tapes, 3 for 10 Ringgit..
Did you ever get the Now That's What I Call Music series in Singapore ? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Now_That's_What_I_Call_Music! The MegaHit series look to be very similar, being Pop Music compilations by EMI and Virgin. In the UK Now is still going, having recently gone past Now 100 https://www.amazon.co.uk/NOW-Thats-...t=&hvlocphy=1006943&hvtargid=pla-905551425093 They were never cheap, but were good value, given the number of Top Ten tracks you got on each one.
Hi Longman, Yes, "Now, That's what I Call Music" quite common and easy to get in Malaysia. I suggest you to download Carousel online marketplace and search for these cassettes.
Different Countries did different editions probably to suit the local charts. There are loads of Now tapes available in the UK. A single google search gave me this at the top https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/1140955812...MI2v-FtP_s6QIVmpntCh399QolEAYYASABEgJB0vD_BwE The CDs are a Charity shop staple. Beyond about Now 50 I rarely see any tracks on them I want though, while the ones with my era of music are more likely to be Vinyl or tape. They did recently reissue Now 1. Judging from the albums you buy I'm sure you would like it, although there seems to be a distinct lack of females on it. https://www.amazon.co.uk/NOW-Thats-What-Call-Music/dp/B07D5H7L8L
Knew I still had a few 80's vintage (the Kopi-O is still in date) kicking around. I seem to remember the Thomson label was a Singapore local licensee as I had quite a few of their tapes and the were a bit more expensive than other local "brands". Unfortunately the nearest Kopitiam is a long, long way away or I could sit down to a nice Nasi Lemak with my Kopi-O, plug in, close my eyes and be transported back to the 80's (where I'd probably find my missing hair).
