Someone talked about these a few days ago ... I don't know if it has already been published here ... I hope it will be useful
This is fascinating! My Dad had the M808 system when I was a kid. I sat for many an hour in front of that thing taping the charts off the radio on a Sunday night! I still have a few of the tapes I made on it and they sound great. I mastered the art of fading out the DJ with the record level dial! Here's the sad thing though, that beautiful Aiwa system ended up in his shed as a shed radio, then eventually it got chucked away. It breaks my heart to think of that lovely deck languishing in a damp musty shed for years and then being taken up the council dump.
Near here I sometimes walk past a Golf Course than was built over what had once been the council tip. I have often wondered what treasures there are buried under the greens, although of course they would just be rusty rubbish by now.

They're out there but it can takes years to put togther a full system. Unfortunately a lot of 70's-early 80's stereos were considered boat anchors in the 90's, people bought the hype that audio electronics were now small and better looking. Smart guys were hiding the stuff everywhere so the wife wouldn't find it and make them toss it. Luckily, forums like this and Ebay have shown there is a real interest in the equipment, hopefully we can prevent items being tossed in the future and brochures like this are priceless for modern collectors.
