Hi am a newbie box collector , I love everything in general 80s wise but boxes and cassettes are more my thing cos I used to have a box back in the day when I used to breakdance, I have 3 boxes at the moment, sharp gf8989 Panasonic 5250 and a jvc RC838W but my jvc is my favourite

Welcome. I wonder if you had one of those boxes back in the day, and if you have any photos from then?

We love seeing photos on the forum.

I have some video I took of some really good Breakdancers performing outside FAO Schwarz in New York doing tricks like spinning on their heads.
Meanwhile my then girlfriend was queueing for a Furby without even knowing what one was ! That dates it to 1998.

Never had any of those boxes back in the day as my parents couldn't afford a lot so I only had a cheap Panasonic box

Welcome Daviedilligaf71, that's a great start, the 838 is one of my favorites, I got a great deal on mine and I really like the sound quality, plus it looks like a real boombox, nobody will mistake it for some 90's egg looking wanna-be.
