yup a five way kramer all jubbley. stereo mini unput ... a pair of gain trims a five stereo buffered outs..,on mini jacks. they do a stereo in and eight stereo outs ... heres another solution and the sokkits on s kramer...
oh yeah... Kramers are good enuff for Lucas Films they should be good enough for temples of loud.

Someday when I get some free time I was going to build an FM radio transmitter, Radio Brandy has some nice ideas for the "micro-transmitters" that meet FCC Guidelines, check out the FM transmitter review page for a few ideas, they love the EDM FM Transmitter and gave it 12 out of 10 stars. I haven't used one but they seem to be a big step up from the Amazon Models. I have a feeling it would be easy to mesh with a computer or google system.

I went with the Blonder Tongue Agile Modulator for TV broadcasting and it's heads and tails above the crappy Zealous Unit but I've also heard there's a version with FM transmission, it might be worth it to search that model out if you want both features, they were designed for large buildings that had multiple public TVs.

I wold do diferent, or wont do at all.
Because sound will be diferent of those 8 boomboxes.
I've tried to mach diferent speakers on my hifi system, worst case was radiotechnika s50b and pioneer something (dont remember model), pioneer was more sencitive low on base but nice mids, so i thougt what i can compencate one system weakness with other system, so i conected them on sepate amp, adjusted volume and sounded decent, until i adjusted source volume, and again, on lover i didint hear pioneer, on higther volume pioneer becames too loud and both variants is unplezent.
So i would recomend to you, use fm transmiter so you can stream to any of your boomboxes but not to all at once, or if to all than i woluld take them to separate rooms, so you would hear one at a time, but everywhere.

i have a pioneer amp ive had for years.. a SA610 with adorable bue screen display... notable feature is its need to see significantly less powerful signals into its inputs... or it will distort them. if you do the math and step between the source and a pioneer veteran amp .. wellthe pioneer performs terrifically.

taken as a case study... (its worth remembering). single sources need to be first buffered.., then each output derived from that may then be further treated to deliver an optimal input signal. not all inputs are the same. not all outputs are the same. a headphone out is not the same as a line out , aux out, or tape out.
clearly phono out is in a class of its own and its not neccesary to go into that here.
if you want a wall of sound from a varied mountain of muscle... first ya pay attention. get the order right. then deliver. no loss of anything at any volume at sny time

8 boomboxes all on the wall... i suppose there wouldnt be more than one setting really volumewise and tone control/graphic eq wise that really works would there?
the idea you’d want to play them at different levels is silly... just play one for quiet listening... all the muscle is just that huh?!! Loud... once you balanced them all... it would sound unique... exciting id imagine... all those dual stereos scattered accross your audio field..
as a thought you may find that sending a dual mono version of the playback material to the L&R’s would provide a less ... er.. psychoacoustic playback through your muscle box wall

    good point Tadasas99.
i take it you were linking more speakers together? if so then one has to obey ohms law.. there will be impedance matching needed (so parallel or serial witing). if its to improve frequency performance then youll have to rethink the crossovers within each cabinet in relation to each other. add to that the power rating of each driver at each crossover band ...thatll need perhaps considering attenuating some but not others... then a bunch of speakers start to work together.

alignment of the drivers starts to enter your math now... which of course introduces Besel! yup your options get increased!

me? i love arrays... i love getting elbow deep in the math. once you start thinkin ‘what if’ in relation to a bunch of speakers... well its a lot of fun. 8 muscle GhettoBooms on a wall is just beggin for more huh

very tru Longman ... you are talking about Bessel arrays... speaker stacks that conform to bessel functions. Very interesting guy Bessel mustve been to see so clearly as he did.
In the Sound System Engineering bible (which im sure you all have by your bed) theres an excellent no bs section on Bessel arrays...
if you have a soundbar on ya telly ... thats one!
I’ll photo the five pages neccesary to enlighten yassel to arrays... gimme five.

yada yada i kno i digress ... aint exactlerly ya 8 boom wall please is it... yes i kno... im ungovernable tho.
so without rules laws or guidance... pics of science to follow

I think the one on the bottom left is new, a Brixton. The rest are pretty common, and some are on the higher end. I found the photo on google.

I had this concern of legality, thanks for clarifying. When I need a room bigger than 60 feet to house them all then I'll admit I have a problem.

    One other thing. Amp.
8 boomboxes means 8 amps, good chance they all have diferent damping factor (if i remember rigth) plus diferent sensitivity drivers and volume control becomes practicaly impisible.
Becsuse two same power amps can produse diferent output levels on same input level, plus diferent drivers can play on diferent luodnes on same amp output.

But idea i like, just dont see it podible on decent level

I would do it in a different way.
I believe, all the boomboxes are having Line-In and Line-Out (Or at least all decent Japanese boxes do have it I know. And I don't have any other, other than few Philips.)
I would connect the audio source to the first Boombox through Line-in, Take its Line Out and give to the next one's Line-In and cascade it to all. You need only RCA cables to do this.

Limitation on this setup, Need to keep all the boxes switched on. But you can play any one or more at the same time, simply by turning the volume control to Zero or UP.
And I would say, this will give the least sound quality loss.

The sound quality will drop down drastically with FM transmitters, unless of course with expensive setup. Still FM Radio reception quality can never match the direct Line-in audio, I believe.
