Hi all. It's been a long time since i've been on here. Haven't really bought any new Walkmans for the last few years. I am thinking of selling some from my collection. I have a WM-3 EX that I am thinking of selling but have no idea what price to on it. I've seen the WM-3 sell for over 1k. I have the player only so no box or other accesories.
if you think you can get near 1k stick it on ebay, i doubt anybody will pay that here, good luck personally i wouldn't pay more than £50 but that's me
Wow! This is an awesome unit, and very VERY rare. Unfortunately, as the rarity of these units increase, the value can vary wildly. You see, as you leave standard/upscale normal Walkmans for these superb collector's grade models, your market decreases rapidly. So, people interested in buying tape players and casual collectors will most likely rule it out, and that only leaves serious collectors who will most likely never use it and only display it. As far as price goes, Radio Raheem is right, eBay is the way to go. This will ensure you get plenty of exposure to the target market. You need to set it up as an auction, because the kind of people you are selling too don't like sellers telling them how much they should pay like in a buy it now, but instead, they would rather let themselves and the other bidders determine the value in an auction. You can always set a reserve to ensure you don't lose it for pennies. I think with these types of things, it's impossible to know true value, so the auction is the way to go.
