It's so rare to appear online for sale in my country and as a matter of fact I bet my money on this unit. The seller told me upfront as the unit is non functional! I actually take it slow and only work on it during weekends...
Upon diagnostic , found many parts start failing one after another. IC chips and power supply components among some of the parts being replaced during troubleshooting. The schematic diagram which I downloaded online helps me a lot in tracing the problems.. Replace the dual input op-amp also. IC is cooked resulting the left side output is garbled and low sound. Touching up the speaker too..
After restoring the amplifier section, next is to look into the tuner. Lucky though there is not much problem except replacing the lithium battery for radio station memory retention. Replacement of push button switches with high contact resistance..
At least now I can render this unit with aux input and radio. Shall work on the cassette deck soon and I believe this could be the biggest challenge..
Very nice unit ! It's rare to see Dolby on these, especially Dolby C. It is the first one I see with this feature. Enjoy your purchase, @Ken80s !
Hi @Ken80s , superb work on this beautiful Beast , I have the FH150R and I love it !! bought second hand 4 years ago from a collector who revive him from dead ! he changed the speakers, not very flat now but it's a more commun design but less expensive and sound still so loud ! he made a complete revision I think and gave me a second cassette deck (that's useful cause now the tape start and stop after 4 seconds... ) and my principal issue is the sound who comes only after a certain level. I saw that you solve this sort of problem for connectors, did I have to change it ? `. I found any information on the net apart you
