Wow! What a thread and collection in there. Amazing! Now...I was searching through all those pics and spotted the four different colored WM-F30's all with the TV/FM/AM so didn't see one without it...except.. (??) in the corner of another photo (on page 2) I spotted this one. 2021-05-29_040107.jpg Do you think it could be the same elusive WM-F30? I will have to post and ask ; -)

Yes that's very similar looking. It looks to be the same as the one in the photo from the other thread referred to above. Mine was purchased here in Canada.

Btw: I didn't realize that you could post eBay links here. I'll have to find my son's recent listing for my WM-F30 where he listed it for a crazy high price "just to see how really rare it is Dad" he said ;)

Ok , solved : Sony WM F10II US and Canadian model , Sony WMF30 European model. There is a common service manual for both , so normal production models .
Of course no prototype or limited edition , still F30 seems to be rarer than the "TV" version judging by the amount of photos available online .

    sony_wm-f10-2.jpg .

Credits to @Silver965 for pointing the F10 II , thanks mate !:thumbsup2:

Now that was fast. Thank you.:hi

Oh well, so it's not actually a rare prototype that should be sitting in Sony's Walkman Hall of Fame Museum Exhibit, Room 1984. Still, it's nice to know that s/he's rarer than other F-30's :reelspin::reelspin:

    Maybe it's just a reassembled WM-F30 with a WM-f10 II cover ?

Yes, seems to be closed! I think it will take some time till the next King Of Rarity appears in this conversation. So what about Headphones and other equipment for walkman. There might be some Kings or Queens Of Rarity out there !?

Those are not listed in any catalogues I own, and I never have seen those twice again in my lifetime. Seems that they are much less often sold than for example the MDR-E282 / E484 / E575 - those models actually are sold for 400€ up to 1000€.
The headphones shown in the pic above are MDR-E472 - same casing like the E484. The MDR-E472 model is well known in a black version -often with remote control as an additional headphone for WM-7XX series. But those I'm talking about doesn't have remote control but a really good looking surface, fitting perfectly to the DD9 (optically and for sound).
Would be fine to hear, if anybody of you guys knows those earbuds!!!

Thank you for these photos ... I had not yet realized that I had these Mdr E472 at home ... not the gold version you showed ... but the version with remote control I think more common .... how can you note from the photos they have been used a lot but still feel good ...

Good eye JK , this looks rather interesting !
One possibility is that this clip holder was part of a promotional WM-2 for a specific company with a green (probably) logo printed on the body of the walkman , of course with such limited information something more official can't be excluded for now.
I have seen at least one promotional WM-2 in the past , it was silver with the brand name printed in black lettering on the walkman , I think it was a cigarette brand but can't recall exactly at the moment.

PS: A white clip holder ?!! isn't that rare or what ? It must have been something special to get into the trouble to mold it in a special color ! At least it looks molded and not painted .

I just remarked another special thing on my WM-2 Hokkaido version. It has got a silver sticker on the bottom side...all my silver, red and black versions don't have.

Okay, a friend sent me pictures from Japanese WM-2 in black, red and silver version. They all have this sticker. Seems to be a Japanese version thing an not a colour thing.

It would be great sticker on all electronic devices. Imagine this warning label on your modern phone :) mine just shuts down when it thinks it is too hot.

Found this on an Instagram account I follow, never seen this one before!

We all know of the WM-3EX, but this one's a "Special", there's no pic of the actual model number, but the hashtag says WM-3. The text on the box says it the "1 Millionth Walkman" So this may very well be the single example?! I'd love some more info on this

By the way, there are other exciting stuff on the account as well.
