I'm Jorge from Madrid, Spain. I just discovered the site when looking today for a new walkman (I already posted a thread in "gear i want", just saying in case someone want to help). I am an engineer that loves pretty much any "vintage" electronics and old school sound systems. Here are photos from some of my possessions, both inherited from my grandfather: My tape deck and a car stereo with surprisingly good sound quality. I also have a pretty big boombox that I will show you in the future, as it's not at home. Welcome to the forum ,jorge. It's great to have another spaniard here, like @mankamaz , @TJ Autoreverse and me. That looks like a great start for your collection. Double decks are cool but don't allow to extract the most of a cassette. For that a 3-head deck, even a cheap one, is the best. And as an engineer, i bet you'll like to play with the calibration of the cassette with one of these. Bienvenido al grupo!
I know this is pretty entry-level gear, but I got it all from my grandfather and have been very happy copying my vinyls into tape. Even deck 1 has a horrible muffled sound, so I will probably ask round here to upgrade it, but I don't have the money right now...
Welcome mate. Nice gear, it doesn't matter how high end the gear is when there is a personal connection, thats priceless
Jorge, Welcome!! I totally/fully "concur" with site residents that $$$ spent on playback boxes do Not reflect one's involvment in music. For me it is just an insentive to keep going... Mortgage, family, car, whatever... is a Must but it is another delivery from Amazon or yet another audio box that keep me going ;-) Welcome to the club!!!
