When I pull out the male jack a little bit I det sound from both jacks. I found this problem in many walkmans would appreciate some advice to be able to solve the problem. Is the problem the Jacks or a IC. I have tried to desolder the Jacks with out helping the problem.

    Is the sound stereo ?

If the tip contact is faulty you won't get sound from one side.
However if you pull the jack out the length of the tip then the two drivers in the headphones will effectively be connected in series on the working channel so you will get the same mono sounds in both drivers.

Ok? Dum question. I get it. The top of the jack. So the solution is to replace the jack? However DD,s have double Jacks and the problem consider both?

First I would try cleaning the jack with contact cleaner and something that will fit in there, and then check the soldering where the jack is fitted (presumably to the the board). Headphone jacks get a lot of physical abuse. Last night one of our cats half disconnected my headphones by jumping off my lap into the lead.

THis is a port that's soldered, it could desolder, it could have rust. If it doesn't look like broken from outside, check from inside.
    Before that, try different headphones.

Ok, now I hade checked for cracks and bad solder joints without finding anything. My quests is the audio IC. To find a donor and and then trying to solder is a difficult task due the small seize of the IC. You could need pro soldering station and they aren’t cheap.

What type of headphone plug do your headphones have ? 3-pole or 4-pole (with microphone) ?

EDIT: I mistakently thought you were talking about a D6C, that's why I initially mentioned line out.

    Hi again.
Valentin, I find the thread WM-10/11 problem, where You hade a teari that it could be the pot taht was the problem. Actually when I turned it forward and back i once got good sound from both channels but it was just on a couple of seconds. The was even lots aof scrathing on the low levels. After FI desoldered tshe contacts and sprayed contac cleaner on ist stsshe problesms remain. Cause this is a sports model I wonder if it has gotten water in it and built som rust. It is also difficultss tso clean its cos its is very compact jaut small holes in it.

    Hi again!
After spraying contact spray in the pots and cleaning earphone jacks and desoldering connection to pot and jacka I get stereo sound from both channels tshough the sound is weak from the rigth channel. This indicate that the pot is the problem?
