    Hi everyone,
I am Roy from Belgium, 16 years old right now, and I am currently collecting retro stuff. I for instance have 4 original Gameboys(2 are modded), a Sony Walkman DD9 and lots of vintage Bang&Olufsen hi-fi.
I joined this forum to find some help on repairing my Sony DD9 Walkman, and I'm hoping to find the right person.
Wish you all a wonderful day!
    - Roy

Hi Roy and welcome to Stereo2go.
You will find lots of enthusiasts and knowledgeable folk on here.
What is the problem with the DD9?

I replaced the belts and capstan tires, but it still doesn’t work. The lights light up and there is a slight buzzing noise, but the wheels won’t turn.

At this stage, remove the battery and don't put any power on it. I would need to see this on the bench to diagnose the problem but trying to power up the DD9 could make the problem worse.

Resan Van Leeuwen, a know expert in the Netherlands, already took a look at it, but was unable to repair it unfortunately. I think it had something to do with a cable.

There are some custom made flat ribbon cables inside the DD9. If one of these is fractured, there are no new spares available so a replacement would have to be made up. It sounds as if it is worth getting a second opinion on it.
