update to the components from my „new“ old hifi-furniture:

tt is overhauled, amp is working (started to power it up very carefully, first without tubes and low voltage with an adjustable transformer, to give the old caps the chance to charge slowly).

both units work great, that old Fisher X-100-a is a killer :smoke

    Very nice setting, autoreverser!
My LP version is from 2001, I grabbed it in a cologne record store 20 years ago ...great album!
Memories coming back. Thank you! This LP came with a beautiful second special sleeve.

Hopefully I'll have my entertainment space done in the next few weeks, scraping painted popcorn off the ceiling is a longggg job. I want to try for old school surround with four speakers, I have matching Pioneer SX-650's that would look awesome. My big Marantz could definately juice anything all by itself.

I'd like to have a home theatre at some point but it isn't a priority yet. That Onkyo looks pretty nice, they seemed to have kept making nicer equipment through the 80's and 90's and not getting into the bottom feeder frenzy. It's nice to see they are still made in Japan.

I tend to watch most movies in 15-20 minute segments, it's hard for me to sit and watch anything on the TV for long periods of time. Hopefully your growing some good hot peppers over there, I just had a slice of pizza with a ton of smoked ghost pepper dusting it!

Well sadly i don't recommend this amp unless you're a body builder we broke off the front flap trying to get it out of the box and at the moment it's stuck in the middle of the floor as nobody can lift it, as soon as i find somebody that can I'm giving it away, such a shame as the build quality is second to none, it makes anything i have seen by technics seem like mickey mouse

Oddly they don't list the weight on the spec sheet. I feel bad for you, good audio can be very heavy.

I would hire a body builder :shock
Did you see the five star review ?
    https://www.whathifi.com/onkyo/tx-nr905/review

At work we used to have 300MByte disc drives weighing over 30Kg.
    https://usermanual.wiki/Document/CDC9715FSDBrochureFeb86.1523120726.pdf
I recall a colleague carrying one from one building to another.
It took him about half an hour to recover though.

    p.s. according to https://www.intl.onkyo.com/downloads/manuals/pdf/tx-nr905_manual_e.pdf
    24.3Kg so less.

have you any idea where i can get the plastic clips that hold the front panel on as they are broken, it seems strange the panel is of metal construction and yet it relies on shitty plastic clips, I'm sorry but I'm not even sure what they are called Longman

Should have also been my VHS in that stack, SLV-E80UX, but it went bang when I powered it up. Will repair or replace.
Also missing, as still in repair, is my DVP-CX850D, 200 disc dvd player.

Nice, I might have that same VHS, I have the TOTL Sony from around then that was used in a lot of medical application, I think mine is white?

I always loved how 80-90s Sonys stacked up, matched nicely and didn't have cartoon looking buttons. I kind of feel like pulling my old Sony Stack out and see if it will still fire up.
