I just saw this, up for auction last year this went for $113,400 USD.

Not to be outdone, Salt and Pepper's Jackets were also a steal at $23,000 USD, I don't think the boomer was included. I met S&P back in the day, I was a lowly delivery driver and they were hanging out at the local Holiday Inn before the big show, right when they would have been wearing these jackets.

It's over $3500 each for the boxes and there was probably a 10-20% auction fee added. I don't know if being attached to DJ Ross would have added much value but apparently it did. I love the hunt, having so many at one time would be overwhelming unless I had a business opportunity to actually use the boxes. The S&P Jackets on the other hand are pretty cool, I've seen the Push-It Video a million times and it still sounds good. It's interesting that there is huge interest right now in early rap gear, it works good for us boombox collectors.

overwhelming indeed, i must have given away /sold about 50 boxes in the last year, i don't mind though i have had 35 years of collecting selling boxes and enjoyed the ups and downs....the only 1 piece i have left are my m90's and crown 970....i must still have about 30 and all my hifi gear and i live in a 1 bedroomed shoebox lol

Big part of the fun for me is the hunt, reading about it... the whole journey, you know.
Having them all in one go misses that part, and probably can't be as satisfying as one could expect...

That's what I try to rationalize, salivating.

There was a guy pretty close to me that put up an ad for around 15 recievers for around $2000 USD a couple weeks ago, definately worth it, there was at least 4 Marantz's and everything was high mid-level but like you said, there's not a lot of fun in that. Luckily it went pretty quickly.
