Techmoan's video, linked to above, shows him playing a 12" LP. The arm does have to be swung out about 140 degrees to the arm rest just above the "Autoset" label before putting the 12" on the turntable.
I had a panasonic 74 7 donkeys moons ago and it had a real nice sound for what it was, never used the record player though, to me it would have been better without it
Not as portable as the all in one units, but in the 1985 Dixons catalogue there were three packages of a Boombox and Turntable. I guess by then they realised that not many people wanted to play records while out and about but they did want to play them through their Boombox at home.
"Window shopping" a 1986 Littlewoods mail order catalogue (known for easy repayments rather than bargain prices) I thought their JVC DC33 should be added to this thread. Just the thing for taking to the park.
