    Hi Community!

Unfortunately the paint on one of the buttons of my DDIII has come loose.
I was wondering if people here ever restored the nice shiny look on the DD buttons before.
I'm thinking about sanding the old paint off and repainting it with spray paint, especially the paint used for scale models like Revell of Tamiya paint.

Any tips on what paint to use or what is the best approach are welcome!

    Regards,
    Roland

What was that: just Chrome-plated round button? Since fine-scale jet modelling is my favorite hobby, I must say that you do Not need spray-paint for something this small, paintbrush or marker won't leave any smudges.
Folks at our sister site Boomboxery.com recommend Molotow 'Liquid Chrome' markers. I would try gluing aluminum foil to the domed tip of the button (in my fav hobby this is called called 'foiling'). Metallic enamels from Tamiya and ModelMaster are good, Alclad lacquers are much better but must be airbrushed. No enamel or lacquer will be as shiny and tough as plating or 'foiling'

Thanks @Jorge for your comments. Sony used a real metallic paint for these buttons. The remains of the paint sticks to my magnetic screwdrivers!
Anyways, an employee at the local modelling shop recommended me to spray paint all of the buttons since there can be a slight difference in colour.
Foiling seems to be a good idea but way off my knowledge.

In the mean time i have sprayed the button with Tamiya paint. First i sanded the remains off with a 2000 sanding pad.
I must say the result isn't bad. I will post a picture soon with the result.
