I dare to ask if it exists!

Was/Is there a personal/portable CD player that featured digital FM radio, MP3 capability and excellent overall quality? I realize that I'm stretching it, but how about all of these features and bluetooth too?

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    From the 2007 Argos catalogue
    Sony DNF-340B.jpg

I'm not sure about quality. Last time I looked a worrying proportion of the ones on eBay seemed to be Spares or Repair.

I'm not sure why you would want MP3 playback in a CD player nowadays. You might as well use a digital player (Sony still makes them) and skip the disc burning stage. it is also easy to get bluetooth in a modern one of those.

I think I might have seen a Sony CD player with Bluetooth but they certainly weren't common. I can't find any audio products with Bluetooth in that 2007 catalogue.

I thought that MP3 capability meant that it has internal storage, a USB port or SD slot to load the music. I didn't realize it meant CD MP3's. Come to think of it, I may have a ton of CD MP3 music from back in the day. haha I wouldn't spend more on a device for it to play them though, when I can simply transfer them to a different device.

Back when these were popular Flash memory was expensive. I have a receipt showing I paid £100 for a 1GByte card.
Another attraction of the CD based players was dodgy CDRs containing things like a full set of Beatles albums all on one disc.

I'm not sure about CD players, but there was a cassette walkman that has SD card slots for playing MP3s.

Will you please share your thoughts about the Citizen CD-180 and Magnavox MPC500. If not specifically about the models, then the quality of each brand?

In the 80's both of those brands had some really cool surprises but overall, and nowadays especially, they just seem to be shell companies using an old name to sell entry-level products. Both of those players are available and pretty cheap, I wouldn't expect them to last more than a year with regular use.

It's really a shame that brands once revered have fallen so far. It especially pains me with Marantz and Denon.

I appreciate the suggestion, but part of my interest is in historical audio brands that have special meaning to me. It's for this reason, that I'm quite partial to Kenwood (pre-JVC), Pioneer (pre-Voxx) and Marantz (pre-inMusic).

The Citizen and Magnavox players are new old stock units currently listed on eBay, but instead I'll wait for something more within my interests to come along.
