How many of y'all have had their collectable boomboxes longer then when there we kids / teenagers... I know one, me. So far, there one I have had the longest (not counting the 2 originals that used to be my bothers, from the days, that I now have).

A little over 20 years: the GF 9191.

Mine used to always get broken or stolen as a kid, they lasted maybe two-three years?

I still have my first modern box from around 2003, a big AIWA, maybe TPR-968? I was at the Goodwill, some guy was looking it over really good, as soon as he set it down I flew over, grabbed it on ran to the checkout before he could say anything......

hmm. ages agoi used to live in an old train-station and had the walls in my main room (ex public waiting-room) completely covered with boxes (the one or other here might remember, but that‘s sorta 15 years ago…), just that for whatever reason i can‘t find my old backup hd with all the pics. i‘m quite sure i had posted pics on old s2go - any hint how to find‘em ?

Ive had this Sanyo since Christmas 1985. I paid for it out of my paper round money - 120 pounds back then!

Always nice to see the proper Sanyo logo on equipment.
When it took such an effort to afford something you would make sure you looked after it.

The old photos are slowly disappearing, I've heard there's a plugin for Chrome that will restore the photos on the old threads that disappeared when the hosting sites quit hosting.

Walkman Archive and T-ster both have back ups of the old forum, I don't know if the backup included imbedded photos.

I used to search by screen name and ".jpg" and get a lot of hits but unfortunately they are mostly gone.

There's nothing better than going out in -1 degree F and shovelling the 8" off the driveway, then the new ice-rink. Grapping a cold one and hitting the forum. Reading the threads and doing some research is like smoking a cigar at the end of a long day!
