I'd like to wish you all a very happy new year, and a belated merry Christmas. You all have been gracious to me, and I appreciate all the down to earth people I've met on here.
Happy New Year everyone. Last night we went to East Christchurch Sports and Social Club, which I have been a member of since 1989. The DJ they had hired was doing a pretty good job of pleasing a wide range of ages. I don't know what gear he was using but it got me thinking back to a Disco there about 30 years ago, where due to two DJs with a shared music collection having to play two different venues, the DJ at ECSSC ended up with the vinyl singles (and consequently nothing new) while the other DJ had all their CDs, and consequently nothing old. Can you imagine that happening these days? Of course DJs back then didn't have to worry about the problem the dance instructor had a couple of years ago, with his Windows PC doing a mega update leaving him with just the music he had on his iPad.
Happy new year. Sounds like a fun time, and after hearing that I'll leave my laptop home if I ever decide to DJ.
What a great night, we played hockey for hours yesterday, it wanted to be warm but it was still ok to skate. The ION JobRocker is still kicking out music!
Ahhh hockey.... sounds like fun, and being from the Northeast we would play neighborhood hockey, many times by Christmas time with the ice cracking under our skates lol. We were pretty fanatical about it, I could never skate backwards but my one buddy was like Bobby Orr in fact they were the players of my youth. Phil Esposito, Bobby Orr, Schultz for the Rangers that was just in it for the fight lol, and many others. I believe the Montréal Canadiens won the Stanley Cup every other year when I was a kid. Good times no helmets, and these guys left it all on the ice.
