@doublecee Recognize this is an older post but I would love to get one for my DC2. I am not seeing them available on the Website? Let me know if still available if possible.
I don't think these are available any longer. I bought one back in 2017 and they were nice. There are others around but they are usually incredibly expensive or faux leather sourced in China. Having said that I bought the Boodo Khan version from a seller on eBay and after a bit of haggling got it made in leather. They are good value for around $100 with free shipping. If you're interested I'll send you the link to the seller on Ebay.
Sure. This is the DC2 case. Very obliging seller I found. Some of the cases can be made in leather if requested but others are what he described as microfibre leather. https://ebay.us/m/988juB
@Silverera Thank You and this is fascinating. I have had a fantasy, although short lived, to send my Original DC2 Case to this fellow to replicate. I bought 2 Cases from him for my Chord Digital Gear, and he is truly a Master Leather Craftsman but look where he resides under his username, VALENTINUM - Etsy
That doesn't surprise me as he told me I could return a DD30 case I wasn't happy with via a local forwarding agent. I never found out who that agent was because he replaced the case and never asked for the defective one back. He is supposed to be in China but his English is perfect in the many discussions I've had which ranges from product to his mother's health;quite unusual on eBay for sure. Overall I've been happy with the cases which are a bit cheap looking with that silver text on them. Would be better without that IMHO. Cheers B
The DD30 case had the charging port hole in the wrong position. It was fine for DD and DDII which are slightly different case positions. Anyway he sent another and of course I can use the defective one for other DD's.
I bought a pre-made case from Hongri-Store / hongrishouji on ebay for a DD33 and really like it. It's professionally made with precise stitching. I wear full thickness leather belts and that material would be too bulky for a walkman case, but the case should hold up well imo (not sure what to call the material, but it feels like durable leather). I then asked him to make another for my DC2 and was concerned about the fit because this unit is a tad smaller than the 33. He made another and the fit was just as snug, also the case windows line up perfectly with the differently shaped unit windows on both. He communicated well, sent multiple pics before shipping, and I recommend this case maker if you're willing to spend this amount. Update: they are both currently available as custom leather cases on ebay.
He refers to the thinner faux leather as "microfibre leather" which he claims wears better than genuine leather. He advised that genuine leather was an option and the same price as the microfibre leather. I ordered one for the Boodo Khan which was real leather. Then I ordered the DD30 one but it ended up looking very different to the image on his site for a DD30 case and looks like microfibre leather. He sent a replacement. It was identical to the other DD30 case. At this point I gave up but the cases are good value and are lined inside which means your Walkman is well protected when in regular use.
