Hello! Don't really know anything about electronics but have been opening and fixing audio stuff over 30 years because why not. Now overhauling a Sony TC-D5M and might be asking some advice.
Welcome to forum @Kalle A friendly advise , do not overhaul your D5M if you dont know anything about electronics ( as you mentioned). D5M is a good quality component and you want this equipment to be fixed by a pro.
Thanks for the advice. I've been fixing stuff for decades, always a success and haven't even died once. Just wanted to know if anyone knows the spot for that yellow wire and then I can handle the rest. Oh, the photo of the wire is in another topic.. in walkman tech talk.
I'll try to introduce me a bit more. Always been a bit of an introvert.. What I mean by the "don't know anything" is that I have no knowledge of any component names or their meanings. That means that I don't understand what "solder xxx to xx" because I don't know what any of those are. But I have no problem in replacing parts etc. I'll attach a picture here. If anyone happens to have a picture of this same component, I might see where this wire should be. No need to open the Sony for me as that means one have to solder off a couple of wires. Pardon me! And thanks!
Welcome to the forum! It's always hard to tell someone's skill level and how much troubleshooting they've done before asking about repair questions. Unfortunately saying something like "There's no sound" could have several pages of answers and we get generic questions like that. Feel free to post any of your audio equipment, we love seeing photos!
