Hello everyone. I am only 20 years old in college interested in getting a BS in Electrical Engineering. I have yet to enter into my core classes and have pretty minimal understanding of but high interest in technology and stuff. I got quite a ways ahead of me for learning and figured joining in on this website would be good for me to get a little more used to diagnosing and learning. What brought me here was me trying to find someone that possibly knows how to fix a Walkman WM F8 that has a constant running motor. Will post in the tech thread. Would much appreciate any input on either post. Thank you.
Almost certain the there is a changeover bar switch on the pcb that will oxidised and is shorting over..try spraying with Servisol..NOT WD 40! ect and moving the slide switch it will be sprung or have a mech type link?..worth trying
I wish I knew what the changeover bar switch looked like. I can't seem to find anything that would resemble a moving contact point thats somehow connected by engagement of the play features. I had made the full post explaining in depth the problem and what I believe it is caused by on the walkman tech talk section. Would much appreciate any further input. Thanks!
Welcome to the forum! When I was a young design student, I loved pulling old electronics apart and repurposing it for school projects. You could probably make some good side-cash fixing old audio electronics, the profession is losing techs everyday sadly.
