Hi @Silver965 , I’m again stuck with an issue. The roller is somehow dragging the auto-stop lever. Previously there was an issue with the spring that keeps the lever in place. I corrected that. But now it seems the roller rubber has expanded and it is touching the lever. Because of this the roller is not freely moving.
hello as per service manual ... the spring in the correct position holds the lever as shown in the figure and this is the main starting position ... during the movement of the tape the lever must move continuously ... from this position it moves by a few degrees and returns to this position continuously until the end of the tape .... it must not slow down the roll in any way Try changing the roller
Hello ! Here is the soundboard of my WM-20. An old guy gave me tthis walkman for a super low price. I'm trying to repair it. Someone tried to do a bridge as we can see on the photo. But it is completely useless. I desodered it. But i'm guessing where the +1.5v should arrive. And i'm also guessing if this board coud work with all this rust on it ? Hello and welcome All that battery fluid that has eaten away at the top of the circuit is not a good thing this and how it should be .... Also check the underside in what condition it is
@Silver965 Thank you very much ! I guess It doesn't look so bad underside. Concerning the DC connector (ok it is unplugged in my picture because soldering was weak) , but I noticed that when i bring in 1,5v i only measure 1,2v just behind the connector. And there were only 2 cables connected to it and i'm wondering if the third one should also be connected ? I saw a green cable on your original picture 6.png (where i put the red rectangle ) that i cannot figure out where it comes from and where it goes ! I also used the service manual to figure out where i should measure 1,5v and where i should measure 3v , and everywhere i should have 1,5 i measure 1,2. i also measured continuity between the power switch and the led and it works so I guess electricity is going through but I suppose, not enough because I measured 3V nowhere (sorry for my approximate english)
Hi ... that green wire must not be there originally It was added because a circuit trace was broken while I was redoing all the welds it seemed ok but I had no current flow... if you look at all the photos I also replaced the connection (white wire) coming out of the battery compartment with a green one png 006...more pics for more details...Check the power jack circuit..there must be continuity between the wire coming from the battery and the bridge i made

No, there must be no wire at that point (red arrow) you can see it in the diagram but it only serves to show how it is connected to the external power socket inside the socket there is a switch which disconnects the battery when the plug of the external power supply is inserted At the point indicated by the red arrow you must have 1.5 volts of battery
nope, WM-20 isn‘t the smallest ever made. the clip above is a cheat, the WM-20 slides apart about one inch when a cassette is inside ( in the clip they use cassette reels only without cassette-housing). there‘s other players wich are smaller: Sanyo JJ-P 5 (and derivates) Toshiba KT-AS10 Sony WM-701 (and derivates) Hitschi CP-88r Sony WM-504 JVC CX-5 Sanyo JJ-P101 . . . just to name a few… View attachment 41594 View attachment 41595 View attachment 41596
Did you ever seen my video dude? Didi you ever heard about special cassette format for wm-20? That staff smaller than usual cassette and allow walkman to play da tape without being slided to height
that‘s all very nice, but most of the units i listed above are with standard (un-modified) cassette inside allready smaller than a WM-20
that's only with the KT-AS10 and the CP88. a WM-701 (and family) is smaller than a WM-20, so is a Sanyo JJ-P3 etc. don't get me wrong, i do like the WM-20 and at it's time, it used to be one of the smallest, but it isn't anymore
Need Poxipol or analogue, buy in every car repair shop. It'sa has 2 tubes with epoxide resin and hardener. Mix it 50/50 and spread it on missing tooth in gear. Form it with help of another gear teeth and wait for 24 h
