Techmoan..."I've owned all the grails, the Sony FH-7 is the best sounding hands down!" (or something close to that).

fortunately for most of us we know this isn't the case. not that I'm bothered anymore

i mean what has he had to compare. the m90 is entry level compared to what we have had

now if good member Reli were to comment i might believe that

although i like techmoan vids...i find most of what he reviews is low end stuff

Which one is the largest? I have the FH-100W and the much smaller CFS-9000. The PS-Q7 fits on top of the CFS-9000 so the footprint has to be similar to the FH-7.

The 215 and 909 are beasts! I don't know all the models but there were a bunch of them, I bought the little CFS-9000 cuz they are kind of rare and still cool looking with APM Speakers and soft touch controls.

The FH-7 isn't even a boombox unless you purchase the optional battery pack, which is very rare and hard to find (and gives you less output).

Hehee. Sometimes the sound of an older box (not them square/deep type) just feels better. Dunno why. I loved the jvc & national boxes

I love em all, there was so much love put into most of them, even some of the entry-level. I love looking at the little details like speaker grill design, hole placement, size of those holes, etc. With the Sony "kind-of-boomboxes" (if you buy the silly expensive battery pack), the grills are just dense enough but you can see the speakers and any details on those. That was a great time to be an industrial designer. It's too bad the boombox designer movie never got made.

    Hi all, I think FH-7 is 30w, FH-215 is 35w, and the FH-909 is 45w.

You can play the FH-909 at full volume and it still sounds great through its original speakers.

For me there is no comparison to the FH-909, not even close. I would love a Techmoan comparison video.

That's a lot of wattage, they must be clocking in over 20 lbs (9 kg).

I like to use my AIWA S-P22 (it's JDM) for comparison at 30 watts per channel, when you add the preamp, it has some weight and size to it. AIWA did use metal front plates and a metal chassis since it was designed as a mini stereo.

I'm looking on ebay and there's a bunch of different FH Models, we might have to start the FH Thread!
