Yes, having found nothing on this topic, I went DIY. The application will allow you to create and manage databases of audio cassettes (as well as reels, vinyls and CDs) with detailed information about each: track the playback of each of the cassettes, identify the most and least popular, recordable, favorite cassettes and random cassettes. And many more. Only for Android.
Very interesting. Sad that you can't make one for iphone. Regarding the database, can it read the barcode and automatically add all the info like Discogs does? Maybe sharing discogs' database?
Barcode reading is not yet implemented. The application is initially aimed at self-recording, perhaps in the future I will add such a function. Moreover, the application is already connected to discogs and receives information from there. What do you mean by "sharing discogs' database"? The giscogs database is publicly available at discogs.com/developers
Version 2.1.0 of the world's first and only application for collectors of audio cassettes and fans of magnetic audio recordings has been released. The application will allow you to create a catalog of your audio cassettes (as well as reels, vinyls and CDs) with detailed information about each. The application database contains more than 3,000 cassette models and about 30,000,000 music albums. This is genuinely amazing. I've been recording this information in Notion in my own database which has been "good enough" for having the data available anywhere Notion is available. I have some questions though. Is it open source? If not why? I can't find it available on F-Droid or any other open source alternative. I see you haven't published it on Google Play, what is the reason for that, sanctions or something else? Do you have some kind of other frontend to access this information or just the app? Is the data stored locally or somewhere else? I'll try and side-load it in the meantime after work, even just to check it out.
Hello. This is practically my first experience on Android, which I used for about a year alone for personal purposes, because... I couldn't find anything suitable for audio cassettes. Not open source, access only in the application, local database (if you have a list of tapes in Excel, you can import it into the application). Registration in Google Play requires $25, but does not accept payment from my country. I just don’t see why I should go through all this, I’m not a professional developer. I hope my application will be useful to you because nothing better exists for audio cassettes anyway).
Version 2.2.0 has been released. In the new version of the CASSETTES application, users can compare their cassette collections with each other and find out which musical genre is most common in their collection. RuStore: https://apps.rustore.ru/app/org.goodcontent.cassettes
