So after replacing the long dead button cell battery on my F701c, the radio seems to have switched to default Japan settings, since I can't go past 90 MHz. I've found how to change the region on other models (WM-FX822 for example) but those methods doesn't seem to work on the WM-F701c.

I've found the manual but it doesn't say anything about region change. It doesn't bother me that much but I'd like to listen to European radio from time to time... Thanks in advance!

Now that I think of it, I could try with the methods for other models and see if any of them works. So far, the one I found for the FX822 doesn't work... But essentially, any Walkman with a digital tuner might do the trick. Any ideas?

    Hi
I have the same problem I tried all modifications but it is impossible.someone tell me that it is possible to change the situation with a new battery because this battery give tension directly to ic.
Otherwise it is impossible to change the component configuration on the circuit

Take out main battery and backup battery from cassette cover.
Press and hold Radio ON and Tun(+)
    Insert main battery
release Radio On and Tun (+)
    Radio switched on 87,5 mhz
    Insert backup battery

What exactly is Tun(+). I tried Scan +, I've tried Preset Tune button with Radio On and nothing. If I press them together radio doesn't start. It starts only when I push radio off, then Radio on.
    Could anyone help?

Ok, at last. It's scan+ on Japanese F701. It wont turn radio, it will switch to different FM. After that you turn radio off and on and it's set to EU.

First - you need to remove both batteries. I would live it at that for 5 minutes. Now the hardest part -ask someone for help - somebody who will push gum battery when time comes.
Keep pushing Tun+ / Scan+ and push Radio On. Someone needs to push gum battery. Keep pushing for a second or two.
It should power on and maybe show you US/EU bands. I tried many times and at after that it turned ok.
It is pain in the a.., but when it will turn on just make sure you insert new, best possible CR battery. And preferably dont leave it with depleted gum battery in. Change for charged one. If you have battery box, I would have it inserted with AA battery too.

    hi
the only possibilities is to take the fm board ( difficult ma possible) and change the position of a component. I tried and the board working with eu channels. If you want i can give you my board because my f701c has the flat cable broken and i used the componet to repair other 701c
ps i tried all possibilities explained before but with some board the only possibility is to change the position of a compnent

Recommend to clean the FWD/REV switch with contact cleaner (Kontakt 60). I've seen this to cause problems at times.
It's located on the bottom PCB, you need to tilt the top PCB to get to it.
