Hello MD Walkman enthusiasts. I've encountered a problem getting the HiMD EH70 player apart. Removing the four case screws doesn't seem to be it. There must be a hidden screwc or latch that prevents the case from being opened. Anyone dismantled the EH70?. There doesn't seem to be a service manual available for this Walkman. The instruction manual which is all in Japanese exists but it's if no help in solving this dismantling problem.
Hey bud ok so once you have all the screws (4) you can see out, you need to work the unit out of the shell starting with the back end.. then you need to try and get the audio-jack input area out of its hole in the metal case… I’ll post some pics I was give showing you points where you need to focus on… Also that white plastic frame… this plastic is very very fragile.
Thanks for those tips. My tech guy eventually got it apart and managed to repair the battery door latch. I've decided not to use it with a gumstick battery as I suspect it may well break again and none of these gumstick batteries ever seem to work for more than a couple of months of recharging and rarely last long enough to play one standard 80 minute MD. I'm waiting for the lithium USB-C one I bought 3 weeks ago to turn up. From what others have said I still need to wait a while longer for that to arrive.
