Hi, all. I was wondering if any of the members here are actively repairing Walkmans and, if so, what they charge for this service. I'm strongly considering buying a Walkman in the DD line, and would prefer an expert repair/refurbish it.
I would absolutely recommend Marian if you can get a hand of him. He runs an amazing webshop called Fixyouraudio that also sells many Walkman parts like belts etc. I would contact him on this page: https://fixyouraudio.com/contact/ and ask if it would be possible for him to have a look at it. @mihokm He has an account here. Hopefully he doesn't mind me mentioning him. I have just had such good experience with him every single time in the past. Keeping in mind a few things: 1. He's pretty busy 2. He's located in EU 3. It's currently Summer (people need their vacation) If you are patient, I would argue there's very few people in this league of experience and professionalism. There's a few other people also who I have seen members use a few times but I haven't got any personal experience with them. ---------------------------------------------- In the US at least I know there is these guys Prell Electronics who basically only do Sony Walkmans. They seem to be pretty knowledgable on them and the price is definitely not outrageous at all. Retrospekt (again I think only Sony Walkmans) is also more expensive but free shipping within the US. I have never used either. Sorry if you were only interested in people specifically on this board.
Thank you for the recommendations! A few other members said that Valentin was really excellent, especially with the DD line, so I'll be sending a DC2 to Val this month for repair.
I'm probably going about this all wrong but where is Valentin located on this planet? Hopefully he's in the US
Thanks. I forgot to even look there. So all that means is that it'll take a little bit longer for shipping and might cost a little bit more. Whoopee no big deal.
Yeah I would have said Europe just to keep his privacy a little. In USA there are the 2 places I mentioned in my first reply above.
