Welcome to the forum Don! Which boombox was posted on here? Those look like extremely well made units, you must have a decent tool collection and access to vintage parts?

I couldn't afford a nice boombox when I was a kid so I built my own with cast-of car stereo parts, they actually sounded pretty good. One of my first jobs was a delivery driver and the van only had AM radio so I'd bring the homemade boomber along. I used to love cranking cassettes along the way.

You posted my first version of the 2nd one I posted above. It used ADS L200 for the main speakers and the Tang Band woofer is ported instead of the passive in this version.
    Here’s a picture of it.

I basically took the Parts Express kits and modified them to fit the look I wanted and used good mini speakers like the Boston or ADS for nostalgia more than anything but the also sound great.
