Hey all, So I had a lovely pristine D311 i acquired... However the laser was bad, and as a lot of you know the 350A laser is pretty much unique to that model alone. And very hard to find. I managed to get two junk D311s from Japan recently... both non-working. One in pretty bad shape! However I did a swap over of the lasers and WALLAH! We have a winner! Unit is now playing perfectly. Although! The sound is extremely low at MAX level, and idea what caps i should replace on the D311 to boost the sound up? Cheers! P.S. I may have a spare laser (untested) from the other unit, i will test this and happy to sell it on to someone here in dire need of one.
Headphone coupling caps at the very least. How many are there on the board? Is it one of those with 30+ caps? Can you put up some pictures. Curious minds want to know
