Hi all, after replacing the laser pickup for my CD5400 and still didnt work, I decieded to check the bottom of the motherboard and found this discolouration below a couple of chips and transistor! Is this discolouration due to overheating? or just normal wear and tear?
Looks like flux. See if it cleans off with a cotton swap "Q-tip" and 70% alcohol. If it cleans off it isn't likely to be heat related.
Meanwhile out on the wood pile. I'm just showing you two different colors of motherboard. This doesn't work either You actually made me remember that this was still out on the wood pile. I need to do something with this. It's junk.
That Board looks like it's out of a Sharp James.. Earlier, Maybe a GF9191 or something like.. But the JDM model..
