Yes, my example is missing the battery cover and there is one on eBay for $154 for just this blue thing. FM receiver ridiculous price.

You take eight screws out the back and you can flop it open like this after you open the cassette deck door.

Mr. X, take note there's a lot going on here. You have a complete cassette mechanism next to that you have your Am tuner and next to that you have the receptacle for the FM tuner pop out. Srf-7 unit notice the wire is going back to the Am radio which obviously does not pop out. Therefore, you have sound with the main unit am only without the blue FM unit inserted and of course the cassette deck. With the blue Sony srf-7 installed. You also have FM stereo.

Just one speaker the amplifier and the cassette deck motor. No date code on the motor only those numbers.

Cassette deck does have amss therefore you have the little pull-off solenoid near the pinch roller to assist in that operation. Also, there is a speed control over the rewind spindle I believe magnetic pickup.

Once you get past the video scrolling up, go to the third picture upwards and zoom in on that and you will see that the tuning cord goes under the circuit board to rotate the variable capacitor tuner and it then goes under the cassette deck and then returns back up to the tuning indicator and then it travels across and it returns and goes back under the circuit board again. Can you see that?

I'm confused, does it use the pull out radio for the tuner or does it have a built in FM tuner?

In the video I tried to make it dirt simple. Yes, it has a built-in AM tuner and the FM tuner works inside of the radio and outside of the radio but there's not an inside FM tuner. Once again, if you insert the FM tuner into the radio then the radio can tune the FM tuner and if you remove the FN tuner you can then play the FM tuner by inserting batteries and a headphone jack and then you have a volume and a tuning knob and a local distance switch and an on and off switch. Or you can insert it with any of the switches on or off with or without batteries with the tuner in any position and the volume in any position and the main unit will control everything with the main controls. If you watch my little video, you can hear that. I exhaustingly tried to explain this except that my FM tuner is dead. It doesn't work and there's one on eBay for 154 bucks that doesn't have the battery cover and we don't know if it works LOL

Maybe but I don't think he does because if he did he'd charge like $200 for the whole thing but then it's not worth it because none of it works cuz we don't know if it works cuz he doesn't know if it works and he didn't say so in his listing either way

this seller has a lot of stuff for sale so he also has a lot of experience selling on ebay ...
personally I would not sell the two pieces separately but that's just my opinion ...
then on ebay but also on other sites now it's easier to say not tested and not working ...

Sorry, nursing a nasty cold and still digging ditches everyday. I can't tell if the tuning string for the main box actually turns the tuning dial on the remote unit, I check the video but don't see better shots.
