Hey folks, I bought this one today.
Not sure if they actually do anything really but I could hear some noise while performing cleaning
Finding a powered demagnetizer these days is not easy so when I spotted this one, I quickly bought it.

The tape is rotating it. Its a magnet and that probably "demagnetizes" the head as when the head lifts up, it comes pretty close to it.

This is what you need. when you press play on the deck that's what engages the power . it's also powered by a watch battery inside the unit.

Is that a special fungi biobattery inside that radioshack demagnitizer? Thats quite a modern environmental durable solution! :) Seriously, these electric demagnitizers work great especially for play back only devices. I like them.

Here`s one of the older models, it`s a little be tricky to use ( i never used this ).

And here are also some of the tape styled, like jvc floyd showed.

I think, the version of calibron would have the solution, you wants. Is the magnetic power strong enough ?

I use that TDK head eraser. It works great, because its possible to demagnetize the capstan and other metal parts too. For me its a standard procedure after working on tape devices, because all my screwdrivers are magnetically contaminated. Only tricky thing is that it doesn't automatically shuts off, so I often find it back with depleted batteries.

I would gladly buy TDK or that RadioShack as the one I bought looks pretty fake :D
But the problem is that nowdays I cant find any of those in the country where I live. I will have to check the eBay for this

Well I learned my lesson . take the batteries out when you're done using it lol. Now I have to clean it up and replace the battery. These work great . I used it on a bunch of boombox but that was a while ago.

You can try to buy with "Buyee" - there you can buy directly from Japan - they collect your deals and send them together after a while to many countries in the world, like Poland and Ukrainia.
