Hello, Greetings from The Netherlands! Let me introduce myself a bit... Been doing repairs for more then 20 years now mostly focussed on electronic musical instruments and other pro studio gear but also doing custom builds to customers specifications. Been dj-ing since the early 90's and i have released music on various labels mostly electro, acid and techno. Longlife tapehead since i grew up with tape, born in '75, and it never left me, love this medium. Over the years i've gathered a nice collection of cassettedecks, walkmans, record players and other vintage goodies which i mostly buy in a broken and sorry condition which i then fix up. What i like i keep and what can go is up for sale so i can fund buying more crap. So i have some experience in fixing things and if i can assist and help someone get their job done i will lent a helping hand. Atm on my bench are a Sony DD3 which might have a busted CX20084 but i haven't done any measurements yet, could be another part at fault. As soon as batteries are introduced the motor starts running....if its the CX20084 i have a horrible looking red DD2 which is running fine so i could swap ic's. Another machine i'm working on and is running beautifully now is an Audiotronics ACD-770D toploader in mint condition. New belts, new bulbs for VU, cleaned and demaged the heads and tapepath, cleaned both input faders...still to do is desoldering the rec/play switch to internally clean and polish the contacts, still has a slight hoover going on when coming out of record mode. So thats why the name Black Fingers, goo be gone!
Thank you @overmodulated and @Mister X Preparing my first official post here on the forum concerning the Sony MDR-W30 and how to dismantle it without destroying it
