Soundesign 4626a Back Front Ac and Mike and headphones input end The screws as they come out are all different lengths. Therefore, here's a picture so you know which ones go in which hole as they're pointed to the hole they came from. You must remove all the knobs and open the cassette deck door before you can pry the bottom from the back off so it starts looking like this so you can remove the back cover because all of the electronics stay with the back and not with the front. Opening looks like that Just above the motor. There's a three-wire pin to remove for the power level indicator which is just a push on pull-off thing but there are other speaker. Wires are soldered in place so you have to work with this with the speakers attached unless you unsoldered the speakers. Then after you remove two screws from the cassette deck and two screws from either side of the main board, then you can remove the main board and flip it over and remove three more screws from the back side. Two are through the circuit board and one is grounded to the circuit board and then you can get to this point. Pull out the cassette deck, flop it over and remove the belt as it doesn't have any plate covering the belt and then clean everything. Deoxit everything. Clean the recording bar switch clean everything electronic that music goes through that can move, rotate or otherwise and put it all back together. And then you're done like I will be soon course no this one. It needs an antenna so I have to go find one. If you look at my beginning pictures this one just has a nub.
Richard this is James. Not everybody can afford the big expensive boxes neither can I. So I bought the less expensive ones as well and I'm reviewing all of the ones that I have. And even the lesser-known brands like General Electric. I am basically in the search of a good sounding inexpensive easy to maintain smaller cassette radio player with speakers. I have to say that because I have walkmans too but you have to have headphones for those, and there are times when I just don't want to be wearing headphones.
hello James, So true I'm sure there are more lesser name brand boomboxes out there still more then the really highend ones. General Electric is not no name they built a lot products and people who bought and grewup with that name bought them like RCA just like Sanyo and even Fisher made portable boxes . Some of the lesser boomboxes can be kind of fun with vibrant colors and funky features like the Yorx Kangaroo Boomboxes. Then you have the monster Helix's and Lasonics that were sold at flea markets and now get big money just because they are so gaudy. That little Soundesign is made in Korea, I only have a handful of Korean Boomboxes but they are all really nice build quality.
