I have a Solar Walkman whose motor won't spin unless I give it a slight nudge. I have dismantled the motor and applied watch oil but still won't spin with out a nudge. Anyone who has worked on these motors have any advice. Thanks
Hi, If I remember right there is a hysteresis plate that separates the coils and the magnetic disc and also there is a small plastic washer clip that secured the spindle back in place . The secret to smooth effective running is that the parts have to be suspended by this micro gap to prevent frictional braking . You might notice that in one of the two horizontal positions it runs better ( face down vs face up ) ?
