Found these this morning. Coffee shop right next to market. It's of interesting stuff. The Sny CD player was £5. No guarantees it was working. Gave it a good clean- working great. Just missing remote control.
The cheap, made in China, cassette player was £1. Usual cleaning- works fine. Just this annoying motor hum all the time. Cannot hear it when tape is playing.

Chinese cassette player "WM-07" !!. A tad cheeky to use that model prefix. Where have I seen that before? :)

Silverera. The motor hum is awful. Dread to think what's inside.

Well maybe it's got dried grease on the motor assembly. If it's not affecting the audio out might be improved by lubricant. It's probably a cheap generic motor you could buy a replacement for a few dollars.

Silverera. Not worth bothering about. I only bought it as a little addition to my small collection.

Yep. Not worth the effort. I've acquired a few similar players usually bundled with some desirable cassettes still in their plastic wrappers. I've found these players make great gifts for younger family members wanting to start an analogue journey after discovering music from the 70's and 80's.

Silverera. Finding good tapes over here is becoming very difficult. Have only managed to find a few type1 and type 2 blanks.

We still have a good local supply of type II. Recently acquired a box of type III for a great price because the plastic wrappers had started to fall apart. Type IV are unaffordable even if you find a listing. I have more than I need now so might start selling a few shortly.
