Hello. I hope this thread is still alive... I got to the same problem. Is there any body who can help me with a spare play button? Regards, Rok...
Ask Tom Tom, he is likely to have spare parts. Want to add something myself. This part is likely breaking due to the fact it was removed incorrectly. Have repaired many DD walkmans and this part never broke. How I remove it is with a pair of tweezers as indicated on the picture attached. Put the tweezers underneath and pull up.
Unfortunately no, the DD33 button is unique to the DD33. The internal green part of the button is compatible between all DDs (in the sense it will fit in any mechanism), problem is the outer ornament is different and also the side of green part that goes into the ornament. - WM-2, WM-5, WM-DD, WM-DDII have same play button; - DD100, DDIII and DD30 have the same button; - D3, DC2 and DD33 have buttons unique to them; DC2 is compatible with DDIII type but has black ornament instead of silver.
Hi, you can use the baking soda + super glue recipe - really effective to rebuild broken plastic parts. I've managed to repair a plastic slider on my WM-D3 as well as a broken switch on a WM-EX631. Takes only patience and care. Good luck!
I tried this @dom69 and. . .it worked! I've never seen a complete play button but I tried "sodacrete" using this thread's images as reference and it worked after a few attempts. There are some limitations because this "flag" is more complex than a broken switch. I was not able to make the ridges on the bottom that keep it from coming out when you press stop. And I have yet to make it 1mm thin without it breaking so it doesnt get jammed in the button sleeve. What I made was rushed but I think with the right patience this a possible solution for the DD33 play button.
