"how to contact victor Japan to know if they can reproduce the superb VICTOR G-HORN EX RC-X90 BOOMBOX GHETTOBLASTER with K2 interface and all the know-how. Here, how many people would be willing to buy it if such a project was feasible and at what price". I clicked thinking Victor were actually making something new. Each time someone posts something like this we get people saying that the only tape decks made today are Tanashin knock offs. Yet searching on eBay there are new Sonys with soft touch controls being advertised. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/135074686084 A key question regarding the Sonys is whether they are recently manufactured or new old stock. I recall a few years ago someone found an entire container full of 1990s Maxim 3 piece Boomboxes.
There are always New Old Stock boomboxes on e-bay for those willing and able to pay. With perhaps a bit of oiling and rubber belt(s) replacement in the cassette mechanism. And that is the main problem me thinks, having to "do stuff" and not being able to just buy a new boombox and run it into the ground like many seem to want Can't please everyone. Certainly will be interesting, over the coming years, to see if anyone ever does make a new boombox with better quality parts before this renewed and anomalous cassette interest phase dies out for good. Highly unlikely but one never knows for sure.
