hello everyone! First time working on this unit I can’t really find much about repairing it. When I was first working on the unit the leaf switch near the bottom came off which leads me to believe that I put it on wrong & it is causing the plunger to let loose prematurely. I’ve moved it a bit but to no avail. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! https://youtube.com/shorts/mKS4TGLoUjg?si=Kxoh5n2enkyisYIJ
mini update: I had it working for a few tries but then the same issue plagues the unit. All I did was clean the pinch rollers
I finally figured it out! If you’re running into similar issues while reassembling the HS-G08, here are two key things to watch for: 1. Delicate Leaf Switch - The leaf switch located near the bottom corner of the unit is extremely fragile. If you apply pressure from the cam arm before securing it back in place, you might break the connection between the PCB and the switch. When resoldering, make sure to position it exactly as it was before any slight misalignment can create too much resistance, preventing the cam arm from fully engaging. 2. Fragile Wires Near the Leaf Switch - The set of wires next to the leaf switch can easily break, especially if your unit has been opened before (mine was missing the usual tape that holds them in place). Every time I tried closing the unit and pulled the purple and grey wires through, they would snap. It got frustrating, and I ultimately had to unsolder the small PCB to reattach them properly after partially reassembling the unit. Hope this helps anyone else dealing with these issues!
